About Syllable Clap

Syllable Clap teaches children to hear the beats in words. Each word appears with a picture: say it, clap once for every beat, and tap the number of claps. Cat is one clap, tiger is two, elephant is three and hippopotamus is a mighty five. After each answer the word is shown split into its syllables.

How to play

  1. Say the word out loud.
  2. Clap once for every beat you hear.
  3. Tap the number of claps.

Tips

Put your hand under your chin — it drops once for every syllable.
