About Simple Machines

Simple Machines is a science quiz about the six simple machines: the lever, the wheel and axle, the ramp (inclined plane), the pulley, the wedge and the screw. Each round shows an everyday object — a see-saw, a slide, a pair of scissors, a jar lid — and you tap which simple machine it really is. Every answer explains how that machine makes work easier.

How to play

1. Look at the everyday object.
2. Think about how it moves or helps.
3. Tap the simple machine it uses.

Tips

Ask "does it tip, roll, slope, lift with a rope, split, or twist?" — that is the six machines in order.
