About Phonics Match

Phonics Match is for children learning their letter sounds. A letter appears, big and clear, with four pictures below; tap the picture whose name starts with that sound. It's the first step of reading, made into a game.

How to play

1. Look at the big letter and say its sound.
2. Say the name of each picture.
3. Tap the picture that starts with the letter's sound (or press 1–4).
4. Ten letters per round.

Tips

Grown-ups: say the letter's sound ("mmm") rather than its name ("em") — that's what phonics is about.
